In 2012 I had the honour to share the stage with the absolutely fabulous Fanfare Ciocarlia, one of the best Balkan Gypsy brass orchestras on the planet, who made me get back to the saxophone after a break of half a lifetime. This piece is my ‘thank you’ to them, as well as to the fantastic whistlemakers of the Goldfinch whistles, whose custom made instruments made it possible for me to combine two musical realms that I’ve been inhabiting over the last twenty years.
